Beer Battered Cod
4 -6 cod filets
3 cups milk
2 cups flour
¼ tsp onion powder
1 cup flour
¼ tsp pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp seasoned salt
1 cup beer
Oil for deep frying
1. Soak cod filets in milk
2. Combine 1 cup flour, onion powder, pepper garlic powder, seasoned
salt and beer; mix with wire whisk until smooth; let stand
3. Heat oil to 425º
4. Remove each cod filet and dunk in flour then dip in batter
5. Immediately place in preheated oil
6. Fry for 3 minutes then turn and fry an additional 2 - 3 minutes;
will float when done.
7. Remove to paper bag or towels to drain
