Scalloped Potatoes
1 cup flour
½ stick butter
2 - 3 cups whole milk
1 onion; minced
2 ½ lbs baking potatoes; washed, peeled and sliced thin
Salt & Pepper to taste
1. In a medium saucepan melt butter and add flour; remove from
heat immediately and stir vigorously until smooth.
2. Place pan back on burner; set on low.
3. Add milk slowly and stir using a whisk until thick and bubbly.
4. Saute onions and add to sauce.
5. Place enough sauce in the bottom of a large casserole to cover
bottom; layer potatoes and sauce ending with sauce make sure to
salt & pepper each layer to taste.
6. Bake in a preheated 375º oven for 1 to 1 ½ hours
or until potatoes are fork tender.
